Hello guys,
I'm planning to build a complete new engine wiring for a BMW N62B44 V8 engine. I was thinking quite a lot about how many relays should I use for it?
The original construction has 3 relays for the base functions (main relay, EFI relay, Ignition relay) and it has 1-1 additional relay for the variable valve lift.
Should I keep the OEM approach or can I simplify to 2 relays (ECU main relay + engine relay). (I'll remove variable valve lift, but keep variable valve timing)
What are the pros and cons? For me it seems it's only because of the relays current rating.
