Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Motorsport Wiring - Club Level
Hello
I am starting two motorcycle wiring projects using Motogadget M-units, and was wondering if you have any recommendation for proper strain relieved connection. I've considered service loops but am not sure how to neatly bundle them or how far away I should combine the wires with sheathing. I am using one v2 with screws that tighten against crimped ferrules, and an "m-unit blue" that uses a spring loaded friction fit directly onto the wire strands. I have attached two example pictures of what I'm working with. Thanks!
Hi Mitchell,
Judging from your picture, Service loops would be easily done on the M-unit. When you loop them have the wires finishing the loop facing down, do that with all of them which will look pretty neat and strain relieved. Also mounting the harness so that there is no strain on any wire coming out of the sheathing will help.
