Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Motorsport Wiring - Club Level
Has anyone in the UK found a decent open barrel crimp tool that is suitable for a hobbyist to use (not aimed at professional level)? I've got an IWISS 1424A crimp tool, and it struggles to crimp the 1500-5000CMA into a meaningful shape!

I use this IWISS kit https://www.amazon.co.uk/IWISS-Crimping-different-terminals-interchangeable/dp/B0195VXA10
It has wider dies for a crimper, so it makes a nice reliable shape on open barrel crimps. I'm very happy with that kit.
PS: Sorry, I'm not from UK :)
Thanks for the link there.
I've tried a couple more of the cheaper ones, but with very limited success on the brass open splices; so I've bitten the bullet and bought the Delphi/Aptiv crimp tool (12085271). What a difference this is compared to the cheaper ones.
For UK based people, I did some research and Mouser UK provided the best deal on this tool.
