I'm looking for a video or tutorial on terminating a Binder 712 or similar connector. I ham-handed soldered one and I wound up breaking off a pin so I am try to not repeat that mistake

I solder those just about every day. The key is to get the proper gauge wire (or trim a few strands to fit), put a mating connector on and put both in a small vice (with rubber grips). That way the heat from soldering won't distort the plastic so the pins don't align. I probably don't need to do that today, but I used to put too much heat into and mess up the connector.

If you don't want to solder these yourself, then I think the versions with overmoulded connectors and wire, are series 702. Check this for wiring compatible with 712 series.:
