just a beginner here but cant you just connect the ECU to the battery directly to power it, what is the point of using a relay for the ECU and how exactly would the pins of the relay be wired

Wiring of the relay is shown in the power design module.

I think it has to do with the order of the enable power sequence, to be able to have the ECU to start first and its relay to trigger a second relay that will activate the actuators as shown in Zac's diagram below that course module. But hopefully someone more experienced will be able to confirm.
