I'm trying to design split moulds (which I will 3D print and then turn into a more permanent mould similar to the process shown in this video https://youtu.be/6xj06Am94aQ?si=7KKvjDAkfsCmUHC1&t=309) to fabricate a charge pipe component using prepreg carbon fibre. Due to the asymmetrical geometry of the part I need to create a relatively complicated parting face (see Draft tool view.png and surface split recording.mp4).

How can I create a surface that splits my part along the enclosed area made by my parting face sketch?

I've tried a few different surface tools, but none of them are doing what I want them to.

I'm aware that the part shown in my attached png cannot be split due to some of the vacuum port positions, I'm just trying to understand how to split a component along a complicated surface(s)/face(s)

Hi Sam,

Does the surface 'patch' tool give you what you need? You should be able to select each closed profile and create a patch.

Yes it does, thanks heaps
