Hello!

you have chosen Fusion 360 - I think that downsides of this choice should also be highlighted. Their license agreement was quite “unpleasent” regarding models you make… also all that pricing - any given day it can be turned from free to any pay model. And it is cloud based - which also means - if tomorrow morning there is issues on their side - you are left on your own…

anyway - what do you guys think of FreeCAD? Yes, it’s learning slope is steeper, but it is installed locally, it’s free.

p.s. I just starting watching this course - so - apologies if it is discussed later in the course :)

Hi,

I understand your concerns, end of the day they are both great offerings.

Fusion360 remains very accessible. It's very popular and widely used in professional and non-pro environments and personally I think it's really nice to use once you get used to it.

That's kind of besides the point though. This course is intended to teach you about CAD and how to use it, it's not a fusion 360 course.

It's the same idea as our EFI tuning courses.

We needed a good solid program to convey the ideas, and fusion360 is a good standard.

If you complete this course following along on fusion360, you will get a sound understanding of CAD.

Then you will be able jump into any program, and after a day or so adjusting to a different interface you'll be just as capable.

Thanks for responding, Connor!

To be honest - after writing thise post - I was thinking about it and yes... came to conclusion that I "shifted focus" to something not really important at this moment...

Anyway - I have done some drawings in CAD, but never had like proper training and I am already having nice eureka moments - so... already filling voids in what I know (or thought that I knew :D

No problem, there's positives and negatives for all programs.

Great to hear it's helping!

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
