Are there any proper alternatives for booting and sealing the AMP Superseal 1.0 connectors? I've found some aluminium covers on eBay which Will give a neck to shrink a molded boot or SCL onto, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience doing this and what materials you've used.

I also found this 3D printable part, but does anyone know where to find something more durable?

Hey man, I ran into this same question and actually found an adequate solution for booting the AMP Superseal 1.0 Connectors using a backshell as you mentioned. Milspecwiring.com (aka MoTeC) sells the backshell on their website and even specifies the specific Raychem boots to use with each backshell depending on the connector size/density.
