I am going to use an LS2 4-pin coil on a motorcyle and Microsquirt documentation advises that caps be provided on the +12v pin, and between the ECU trigger and ground pins. Image attached. My question is: assuming these should be done at the coil connector, how best to solder or crimp them inside the boot? I'm struggling to picture a connection that is insulated, crimped (not soldered), and strain relieved. I considered potting the coil receptacle and encapsulating the capacitor inside the cavity with the pins and lead solder joints but then I would be unable to service the capacitor. Insight is appreciated! Really enjoying the PM courses.
