Discussion and questions related to the course Practical Motorsport Wiring - Professional Level
I have a question about about construction of a wire harness that is incorporate 12V power wires or ignition wires . Could these wire cause interference with vital sensors, such as map sensors and air intakes temperature sensors?
On the OE application, I can see that they feed in power wires from a different part of the harness, almost to limit exposure. Is that a concern in the motorsport world?
It's really not a concern. The signals for the likes of MAP and TPS won't be affected by the 12v power supplies. Typically the main area for concern is the high frequency signals from the crank and cam sensors being affected by EMI and this is why they are shielded.
Thank you for the reply!
Thanks Andre for clarification. I was thinking about the same thing.
