How would one go about potting and booting a switch like the Otto P7? https://prowireusa.com/p-1972-p7-mini-push-button-with-black-cap.aspx

Could you use a piece of say SCL in unrecovered form to form a long cup off of the bottom of the switch, partially fill with potting compound, and then recover so that the SCL adheres to the switch, potting compound, and sheathing of the leads? My only fear is this method would be a bit bulky for say a steering wheel switch. My current method just has the leads soldered, sheathed and looped back and zip tied to the switch itself for strain relief before heading to the harness section. Aside from using a box, what other methods are out there?
