After taking some time to go through the course I took it upon myself to get some scales and create a spreadsheet to calculate some spring rates based on a table of motion ratio calculations a 13% NF increase front to rear for my rather large 107” WB. From this I have a nice list of spring rates to choose and what NF that yields. The issue I’m having is dampers. I have chosen a set of ohlin high frequency valves and am going to start doing shimstack calculations but I cannot find any information online regarding how to shim for a given spring rate. Most shock dynos seem to have force and speed shown, is there a certain force per speed I need to look for? from what I understand you want a 65-70% critical dampening as a good rule of thumb but how would I go about calculating this? Thank you in advance!
