Discussion and questions related to the course Suspension Tuning & Optimization
When watching video 'Lateral Load Transfer Calculations' I got really confused.
When explaining spreadsheet...at 30:00 teacher increases front spring stiffness and as a result 'Total LLTD' increases. Shouldn't be the opposite? If we stiffen front of the car, load transfer in front should lower, therefore front:rear distribution (percentage) should lower. Is there a mistake or I don't understand the concept? Thanks for explanation.
No, the spreadsheet is correct - Increasing the spring rate will increase the lateral load transfer at that end of the vehicle. you may want to revisit the Lateral Load Transfer Basics section of the course.
