Hello, I have a question, what is the maximum safe exhaust temperature?

I think there's too many different parameters to take into account to give a definitive answer. Fuel type, n/a or turbocharged, materials of cylinder head, manifold and turbo.

All these play a part in selecting a safe exhaust gas temperature.

I assume you're asking for a turbo-charged application? It will largely depend on whether it's water cooled for bearing temperatures, and the materials used.

The turbo' manufacturer should have a maximum rated temperature on their 'site, for the specific turbo', some may be happy exceeding this, momentatily, such as drag racing, but it's sound practice to use it as the limit.

That said, other components may also be temperature limited, such as the exhaust valves and manifold material.

Some heat shielding may lso be required for components that are near to the manifold/turbo' as there is a LOT of radiant heat given off.

I once red that Garrett turbo cartridge separators were good for 950C only... So as a rule of thumb I try not to exceed that number by any means.

On a scoob It is approx 850c in the uppipe then the car will switch to a high rich fuel map and reduce boost,

Thank you very mach for the answers
