good day guys,

i have a question.

when setting the base ignition timing on an sr20 engine using the factory CAS, do i adjust the CAS until the timing light matches the locked value or do i leave the CAS in a middle and adjust the trigger offset until the timing light matches the locked value.

You can do either. The combination of crank sensor position and trigger offset need to make the commanded timing (locked value), equal the measured timing (timing light).

ok great thanks David
