Can you do a webinar on tuning ignition timing on an inertial DYNO, using blocks of wood as a pedal stop?
As an example, the pedal stop holds the throttle at 60% and a pulls are done with ignition timing varied (after AF is tuned)
The pedal stop is adjusted to 70% etc....
This isn't a technique I'd really advocate using to be honest although I understand that your choices are limited on an inertia dyno. The problem is that it is only going to still let you map the timing down to perhaps 40-50% - You will get to a point below this where the engine isn't making enough power to accelerate the roller.
While in the perfect world we would like the timing to be optimised everywhere, the two critical areas are WOT (understandably), and in the 0-40% 1000-4000 rpm area that we would use for cruise and light acceleration. We can tune WOT adequately on an inertia dyno but the second part is basically impossible.
