Soldering vs Resistance | How Bad Is It?
Summary
Can soldering wire affect the resistance reading? OK this isn't a topic I actually have a huge amount of specialist knowledge on because as you've seen in the webinar so far, I'm not a huge fan of soldering. However, yes the solder joint can affect the resistance of the wire compared to bare wire that hasn't been soldered.

00:14 | However, yes the solder joint can affect the resistance of the wire compared to bare wire that hasn't been soldered. |
00:22 | A lot of this though does come down to the solder technique and specifically how thick the solder joint is. |
00:29 | So if you've got a good connection between the parent conductors underneath and your solder technique is good, the affect on the overall resistance compared to a solid piece of uninterrupted conductor is almost negligible so it shouldn't be a big consideration if your technique is good. |
00:46 | Should be less of a consideration anyway if you crimp instead of soldering. |
00:50 | I know that's a bit of a sore point for a lot of people but we've already covered why we should be doing that. |
