THIS is how you should attach an external wastegate! Exhaust gas is pretty lazy and tends to take the path of least resistance. If you want to achieve smooth and accurate boost control, spend some time ensuring the wastegate integration to the exhaust manifold is smooth and follows the natural flow of exhaust gas.
