Hi are there any HP Tuner specific courses or information which covers the following topics?
- Tuning individual throttle body intakes and making use of HP Tuners VE Multiplier table.
- Tuning transient fueling (accel enrichment, etc) and specifically how that sort of thing works with GM ECU's.
Cheers
Benno
Hi Ben,
There is a few HP Tuners worked examples which use only the HP Tuners software. These can be found in the practical reflashing course found here
https://www.hpacademy.com/courses/practical-reflash-tuning/
Although these do not cover more advance topics such as ITB tuning and Transient enrichment's.
The advanced nature and vast capabilities of the GM ecu makes it very difficult to be able to cover all sections, not saying it won't happen. Just not available now.
Although there are plenty of smart people on here with advanced knowledge of HP Tuners who I am sure can help
It sure would be nice to have more detailed list of information about what HP Tuners has listed for adjustment.
Just for example under "MAP" there is "MAP WOT Depression". Down a the bottom it explains " Intake Depression at WOT: MAP offset table for intake depression at WOT." Now to someone that has been tuning for years will automatically know what this is and how it used... for the novice this is not going to happen.
There are more of course.. probably thousands...that us novice tuners wouldn't know the proper use.
Like in the webinars and courses I have watched it basically just deals with AFR, Spark, but never goes into more detailed teaching of other parameters that would effect tuning properly. I realize it would take years of webinars and making more courses but just a simple list and more detailed info using HP Tuners would be great.
I feel like I'm talking to a wall...lol
You pretty much are....lol.
Worked examples of something like ITB's is one thing...that's a unique and uncommon setup for most applications, but there could at least be a big cam example. All the worked examples are on a basically stock vehicle, which was certainly disappointing.
I believe there might be a larger camshaft worked example in the pipeline although can't 100% confirm.
I guess as great as it would be to cover all aspects of tuning, it must be pretty hard. So many different software available, standard ecu, aftermarket and so many different aspects of what you can do then also to cover everyone from beginner to advanced. I think the list of "do to" is fairly large!
I was trying to focus on HP Tuners. That would narrow the list down a great deal. Just basic information that would expand peoples knowledge on different parameters other than one short sentence on the bottom of VCM Editor.
100% Agree would be great to be able to cover this.
Although when everyone is asking the same thing for multiple software, reflashing and aftermarket ECU, all which are very popular, it gets very hard to be able to please everyone at once.
Things are in the pipeline to be able to cover more topics, the biggest issue is working out how to clone Andre or convincing him sleep is overrated :D
I will pass on the demand for more in depth HP Tuners. Until then I hope you can find the forum helpful for if you have questions on certain parameters you can post here and people with experience in that area can help.
Andre sleeps? I didn't know that...lol
I appreciate it Chris.
