Hi guys, I've tried doing a search and having trouble finding the answers. I'm in the market for tuning stuff for my LS1 T56 swapped Toyota Soarer. The ecu, engine and gearbox came from a VY Commodore. I'm looking at buying the HP Tuners stuff, but have no idea what I need. I already have a laptop I can use, but dont know what I need, and after looking at thier website, I'm even more confused. How many credits do I need for just 1 car? Will the basic pack be enough or do I need the pro stuff? Pro's and con's? Thanks in advance.
Hi Raymond,
I use HP Tuners for an of my GM LS tuning. Most will require 2 credits per car to tune.
I highly suggest taking the Practical reflashing course. This explains required hardware needed for reflashing.
It also focuses on HP Tuners software and has several worked examples. Once the course is taken I think tuning your own car should be a breeze and any issues you encounter can be covered in the Practical Reflash section in the forum.
Thanks for that. I plan on doing the course. Just trying to work out what I need to buy in the mean time. Cheers.
