When I try to apply the patch it does not create the new ve table as expected. I followed the step by step process in the course although I don't have the stock file. I started with a tuned maf file. Is this my issue?

SD patch doesn't generate a VE table for you, it will always be zero'd out. You can use your virtual VE table from your original tune as a starting point though.

What I am saying is the original vve tables remain. I don't get the new ve tables that start out empty. It's like the patch isn't applied but the option to apply goes away.

Perhaps the SD patch on your ecu uses the VVE tables as the VE table. Have you tried changing it to see if it modifies the fueling?

Ok that would make sense, I did notice it did and it also changed the map sensor value and I had to set them back to 1 bar for my application. I just wanted to be sure before doing the write entire and possibly bricking the ecu.

You can always write the stock file to the ECU.

Yeah, I would need to find a source for that from somewhere. The car came to me with a tune on it.

Have you saved that file so you could reload it?

You can find stock files on HP Tuners website, log into your account, look under resources and there is a button for "tune repository" on left side. You can search for stock files to match your vehicle.

I find these very handy to compare what has been modified when a car comes to me with a tune already installed, and the car not running well.
