Hello, I scaled my maf sensor by running maf only using techniques from the ecu tuning course. Got within 1-2% error here. Moved to SD tuning by failing the maf sensor and got within 1-2% error here as well in as many cells as I could hit in the histogram. Today I turned the maf back on, turned fuel trims back on pretty much returned to stock other than maf and ve tables. Did a data log and am now showing 5-9% lean in all cells within SD and maf histogram. Please help me! I feel like it's an easy explanation that I'm just not seeing or understanding. Thank you in advance!
I wish I could offer an easy explanation, however that is definitely not an expected behaviour. As I'm sure you'd be aware, the ECU primarily relies on MAF only with the exception of transient conditions so the error you're encountering sounds like its predominantly going to be MAF related. I can't offer a clear reason why this would be the case though. One of the common issues around these sort of errors is due to logging and making changes under heat soak conditions which can have a significant influence on the fuel requirements. At the risk of making you do more work, I'd revisit the MAF scaling and go through one more iteration of this and see if you can then get the desired result.
