dear team,
any software , hardware to recommend for data logging ?
regards.
For what car? There aren't many good generic options that cover all makes and models. I have heard good things about 'Vehical' but no personal experience. If you focus on a particular group of cars you may be able to find something tailored to that.
As Ben mentioned the specific car and application matter when it comes to not just what logger you want but what is easily used.
You have options ranging from simple devices that plug into your OBDII port and log to your phone, standalone loggers, and dash display/loggers that in some setups can also control ECU functions (generally when paired with an aftermarket ECU).
Software is generally supplied or recommended, but MegaLogViewer HD (MLVHD) is a popular option that works with a wide range of file types.
Some brands for you to investigate include AiM Sport, Racelogic as well as many ECU brands having devices including MoTeC, Haltech, Link, Ecumaster, EMTron and many more.
You can find some software downloads and sample data files in the data analysis forums if you want to have a tinker, and I believe MLVHD has a limited free version as well.
This article is aimed more at data for driver/vehicle analysis rather than engine management but I think it is something you might enjoy a quick read of too: https://www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/motorsport-dataloggers-what-do-i-need-and-why-do-i-even-need-it/
As we don't sell data logging devices we won't quite know the scope of things as a dedicated (dedicated as in a company that offers good pre and post sales support) retailer, so don't be afraid to talk to a few before buying anything too.
