hi
it seems to me very complecated i just cant get the high and low cam degrees and what i should be tuning i have a honda accord and i use ecubooster software i have fuel and ignition maps for high and low vtc degree which are 0,10,20,30,40 degrees both high and low and i have another 4 maps called vtc which are vtc high and vtc low and vtc highFT and vtc low FT i am not sure if FT means full throttle and i have knock retard maps which are 14 maps .. which maps i should start tuning
thank u
I haven't dealt with this software before but it looks like they've just developed a much more complex and less intuitive way of tuning the k-series engine than Hondata. I don't specifically know what the 'FT' stands for but I'd suspect it may be full throttle (which is weird since they use WOT elsewhere). Is there a help file or any documentation that refers to these maps?
Regardless of the structure of the maps, the principle is the same as tuning with hondata. Set the low can and high cam targets to 0 degrees, optimise fuel and ignition at that cam target, then switch to 10, 20, 30 etc. Once you have all the individual cam target maps optimised you can do a ramp run at each cam angle to build up a composite map so you know what your ideal cam target should be vs rpm. The Hondata worked example will still be helpful to see this process being applied.
