In this video around the 13min mark you discuss a transmission idle airflow adder table for shifting from park to drive. I’m working on a gen 3 and I don’t have this table to adjust. Is there somewhere else I can look? I have my VE and maf dialed in but im still having stalling problems when shifting into reverse or drive. It seems to be worse in reverse. When the car is warm the rpm’s will drop really low but will usually recover. When the car is cold rpms fall and stall. Any help is greatly appreciated! Love these courses!

Have you set Edit->View to Advanced? Without that, some parameters are not shown in VCM Editor.

Yes sir I have. I believe the sample in the video is of a gen4. My Gen 3 doesn’t have that table, I’m hoping there’s another table that can help dealing with the load of putting it in gear.

Have you tried adding a few g/s of air to your Base Running Airflow table? Specifically the 'in gear' row?

Yes sir I have. Matter of fact i think it might be too high. When I put it in drive the rpm’s raise up a little then drop to commanded. But when I put it in reverse it drops. I put in a small cam that was advertised as not needing a stall converter but I’m starting to think that might be the issue.

I believe the trans runs higher line pressure for reverse, it may be the extra load from this why it does it in reverse and not drive. I don't have any solution to offer you though. Is it real bad? If it were me I'd probably just split the difference and adjust my in gear base running airflow to do exactly as you describe, little high in drive, little low in reverse.
