Hi ,
I just thought i may add to this and believe it has warrant in mentioning no matter what ecu you are tuning, Standalone or OE REFLASH.
The PIDS, IAT ,ECT IGNITION TRIMS as well as IAT and any cold start or warm up enrichment or ECT based fuel trims be monitored.
I have seen many tunes vary and see other tuners asking me for help only to find that after doing 50 pulls on the dyno the heat soak in the engine has got to a point that it is pulling -5 degrees of ignition timing and subtracting fuel from the table to compensate for the less dense air.
Sometimes these basics are over looked.
Just thought it was worth a mention.

Pro Tuning
Hi all,
one thing i would like to know is on the side of the HP TUNERS DONGLE or interface where the wideband can be wired into.
Does anyone know what the rest of the pins are for, i assume extra,W/B or EGT or some other form of analogue volt or temp input.
If so can someone please show me what the pin numbers are and what there description is such as external temp input, W/BAND 1 or 2, etc etc.
Thanks
Regards
Dave.
Hi Dave,
The pinout for the MPVI interface is listed here: https://www.hptuners.com/help/vcm_scanner_eio_connecting.htm
There is also serial support through the VCM Scanner software to directly input a number of popular wideband controllers directly into the scanner via serial/usb rather than wiring it to the interface. This has the advantage of eliminating potential problems with voltage offsets etc.
