It doesnt seem like there are a ton of powersports tuners on here but I figured I would ask either way.
Which do you prefer Woolich vs Ftecu and why?
When it comes to creating a fuel map are you using the wideband O2 options they offer to automate the process?
I was happy using Woolich Software to tune GSXR-1000 engines in small sports racers -- Everything I've gotten from them has just worked, and kept on working.
I used our own wideband lambda, and manually updated the tables as necessary. These days I run stand-alone ECUs on those engines, but was getting the job done with the Woolich software.
I would be curious about your workflow. I have only experience with the power commander piggy backs which is pretty automated. Watching the video on the car stuff here it looks darn easy to calculate what has to be subtracted or added to get to your targeted afr. Ive been told that its not all that simple on the motorcycle side of things and that calculated value probably wont do what you expect it to do, again my experience is pretty limited and taking other peoples word for it.
Well, perhaps my experience is too old (2007-2008 GSXR 1000), tuned in 2010 or so probably. I simply adjusted tables by the percentage I wanted changed, and got the results I expected. No magic, just making sure you are editing he correct tables for the conditions measured and doing the math.
The method HPA teaches to correct fueling based on the difference between your desired air/fuel ratio, and monitored air/fuel ratio (wideband), absolutely works on a bike just as on a car, truck or otherwise. You may find per gear fuel tables for example on a bike vs. one table, but the process remains the same.

Being a motorcycle tech for over 10 years now i am looking into ecu tuning.
I do work on many brand, so polyvalence is key to me, that seam to be a problem. I found a software call TunerPro, but i am struggling finding an "ECU programmer" for bikes.
And then finding the correct XDF file doesn't look simple.
If i have to recap the process i need:
laptop, obd2-usb cable, a programmer/reader ECU, and a software to modify the map?
-Plug the bike into the reader, extract the BIN file, save it.
-Find the matching XDF file to read/translate the BIN file
-Modify a copy of the BIN file
-And then send it with a programmer?
if you have any recommendation i take it !

I did look into those option unfortunately they dont cover all the model i want to do.
Its pretty nice that they offer map already tested but you are lock 1 map 1 bike ...
Ideally i login any ecu extract the map, modify, and rewrite.
Have you tried alientech KESS3? Look like they support more model. its a little expensive but more versatile. old one is KESS2 or KTAG

I am a newbie with some years experience, building engines, tuning and doing drags.
What particular model are you looking for?
When I started out, I used one that is called tuneECU. This is mostly for Triumph, KTM and Ducati. Very easy to use with many tested maps available.
I have now changed over to Tuneboy, as this can do so much more. This can even accept the Dynojet autotune tables, set up launch control, rpm ramping and do live tuning via the obd2.
Looking to buy a dyno this spring, and start doing some tuning for other people. So I am also trying to find some good software that would cover most bikes, preferably some that can do live tuning to save some time.
