It doesnt seem like there are a ton of powersports tuners on here but I figured I would ask either way.
Which do you prefer Woolich vs Ftecu and why?
When it comes to creating a fuel map are you using the wideband O2 options they offer to automate the process?
I was happy using Woolich Software to tune GSXR-1000 engines in small sports racers -- Everything I've gotten from them has just worked, and kept on working.
I used our own wideband lambda, and manually updated the tables as necessary. These days I run stand-alone ECUs on those engines, but was getting the job done with the Woolich software.
I would be curious about your workflow. I have only experience with the power commander piggy backs which is pretty automated. Watching the video on the car stuff here it looks darn easy to calculate what has to be subtracted or added to get to your targeted afr. Ive been told that its not all that simple on the motorcycle side of things and that calculated value probably wont do what you expect it to do, again my experience is pretty limited and taking other peoples word for it.
Well, perhaps my experience is too old (2007-2008 GSXR 1000), tuned in 2010 or so probably. I simply adjusted tables by the percentage I wanted changed, and got the results I expected. No magic, just making sure you are editing he correct tables for the conditions measured and doing the math.
The method HPA teaches to correct fueling based on the difference between your desired air/fuel ratio, and monitored air/fuel ratio (wideband), absolutely works on a bike just as on a car, truck or otherwise. You may find per gear fuel tables for example on a bike vs. one table, but the process remains the same.
