Is there a course, webinar or worked example of tuning a modern OEM ECU that is torque based? The only information I have found on HPA is related to diesel tuning. Ignoring the principals of how the engines produces torque, do the theories that apply to diesel torque control apply to gasoline engines as well?
I like to think torque based ECU tuning just refers to how the how the ECU commands the throttle body and has nothing to do with fuel delivery or ignition timing. I have a client asking for a tune on his C8 corvette and I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into before I agree to the job. I have only worked with speed density and MAF tuning in the past.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Viezu has courses for torque based remapping. Most European vehicles run a torque based strategy. The tuning school has books for GM Gen V and Dodge tuning, both are torque based control.
It turns out the worked examples of Practical Reflash Tuning in HPA include the information I was looking for. I was just expecting torque tables to be addressed in the lesson part of the course as well.
