A software can bring up a Polo GTi 2017 up to 290 NM of torque but the torque limit of the 7 speed DSG automatic transmission is set up to 250 NM, my questions are... Can i put some other clutches that can support more torque? or the torque limit is for the assembly of the transmission itself and it can’t handle more than 250 NM? as you can see here (http://en.volkswagen.com/en/innovation-and-technology/technical-glossary/7-gang-dsg-getriebe.html) the DGS has a dry-running clutch packs ... so its impossible to raise the torque or what? i would like to hear what Andre has to say and anyone who wants to help me

My experience with the DSG boxes is quite limited. You'll likely find that the 250 nm limit is a design limit but the gearbox isn't necessarily going to fall apart at that point. These are design aims for OE reliability levels - ie 100,000 + miles. For our uses in the aftermarket you may well be able to exceed these limits, but how long for is the big question. I'd ask some questions on some of the VAG forums as you're likely to find people with direct experience. From reading that spec sheet it sounds like the primary limitation is the clutch packs.

We usually reply within 12hrs (often sooner)
